I want to take you behind the jars for a minute.
Salt + Earth did not start as a polished product range with pretty labels and shelves of stock ready to go. It started in clinic, after years of seeing the same thing over and over again.
Tired bodies. Tight shoulders. Poor sleep. Nervous systems doing the absolute most. Busy mums running on fumes, caffeine, and “I’m fine”.
And honestly?
They were not fine.
They needed simple, practical support that actually fit into real life.
Why Magnesium?
As an Osteopath and Naturopath, I have always loved magnesium because it is involved in so many everyday body processes.
Magnesium supports normal muscle function, nervous system function, energy production, relaxation, and sleep support. It is one of those foundational minerals your body uses constantly, even if you only notice it when things start feeling tight, tired, wired, or a bit over it.
In clinic, I kept seeing people who needed magnesium support, but the options available did not always feel right for families.

Some were full of ingredients I would not choose for my own kids.

So I decided to make my own.
The First Batches Were Not Glamorous
Let me be very clear: this was not a smooth, beautiful, effortless process.
It started in my kitchen.
There were spreadsheets, ingredient notes, test batches, texture issues, scent tweaks, and plenty of moments where I thought, “Well, that absolutely did not work.”
- Batch one: a learning experience, said politely
- Batch two: better, but not there
- Formulation one: used for months before I knew it needed more
- Formulation two: closer
- Formulation three: finally felt right
That final formulation became the foundation for our original Magnesium Cream, which later evolved into our Calm and Dream varieties.
Good products take time.
And a lot of kitchen bench chaos.
